Couldn't pay through stripe, I would try and contact itch io if I were you, based on the comments it sounds like you're missing out on some sales here.
I've not had an issue buying from other creators on itch via stripe.
Hey I think there is something wrong with your Stripe payment method. I tried to pay with two different credit cards and it gave me an error along the lines of...
* Your account cannot currently make live charges
* Payment Code: P-20535991
* Contact itch support
I dont think the error is on my end as I have recently used my credit cards to pay for other things.
I have also since used PayPal to purchase this asset from you and that attempt went through. So I think its just paying with credit cards through your Stripe account thats having issues. Figured I'd let you know.
Anyway I have looked through the assets briefly and imported it into both Blender and Godot, and so far I like what I see. I can't wait to do more with it. Thank you and good job!
Hey thanks for letting me know. Stripe is very finicky but it seems like everything went through. Thanks for the support and good luck on your project!
The DEF bones are in disconnected hierarchies, breaking Unity humanoid animations. The rig makes it easy to create new animations but very difficult to use existing ones due to the skeletal hierarchy (disconnected deformation bone hierarchies - head and neck do not deform head and neck, instead root->...->DEF-spine.005 does).
Wow the male shorts and pants rigged models are not included and I had no idea you are the first to tell me! I'm so sorry (to you and everyone) I'll update it first thing tomorrow and update the pack
Alright, sounds fine to me :) thank you replying too. My goal is to make a fantasy shooter and need some different races and I'm still to modeling, so when i get paid I'm gonna snag these. I want your videos a lot too. Enjoy the outbreak let's play.
Hey I'm so sorry to hear that, I've only used UE4 but looking online it seems to be a rigify compatibility issue, but it could also just be a general blender to game engine problem. If you haven't watched already this video may help.
No problem, its also been on the back of my list of things for my game. Right now focusing on programming stuff and i have a place holder model i got from sketchfab. When i get more gameplay implemented ill try the rigging stuff again.
When I use the provided fbx assets in Mixamo, everything works perfectly. However, I modified the assets in Blender 3.6 and exported as fbx, and they no longer worked in Mixamo. I was curious, so I tried opening the unmodified blend files and exporting as fbx. That also didn't work in Mixamo, so I don't think my modifications are the issue. Was looking for some advice on what to do.
just bought and seems pretty cool so far. im going to re rig the characters to the ue5 mannequin. i noticed on the fbx of the base male his uvs on the crown of his head were off, leaving a black area near the back of his head. i could easily fix it and did by sliding the one vertex down in the uv editor so it matched the contour of the texture. great work. this is going to save me time by having cohesive character models.
Thank you! And yeah I plan on re-rigging with auto rig pro so it can easily export to unreal. Glad to hear it'll save you time though, that was my goal when I made this asset pack! Hoping to do a lot more, including some animals and stuff ๐
I havent had a ton of time to look at the pack mainly just one model. But do you have bald versions of the character model heads? Not just a bald texture but a rounded mesh? If not I could see that being a good addition later on.
if you do the texture for Lara Croft, maybe it would be also possible to have short pants and bones for guns or backpacks on the character, so it would be easier to attach stuff to the character in the game later. Thx. Looks great. Also you could write the polygone count in your desctription. Nice work.
Hi, the model is not scaled correctly, the head & body have a scale of 100,100,100 & rotation of -89. Im using Unity & I cannot get any animations working on it. I've set up a rig etc...
Hmm... that's strange, I've opened up the models in Blender and they are all scaled to 1.
I will be releasing an updated pack with bonus heads and textures and I'll be sure to get it all corrected I'm really sorry about that. I mainly use Unreal but I know that sometimes animations export at very strange sizes from Blender, either being gigantic or tiny. Try exporting at a scale of 0.1 and see if that fixes it in Unity
Yeah I'll be adding several hair models for male and female characters, but the price won't change regardless and I'll keep the original as an optional download too
Here is a screenshot in Unity, as you see those 3 parts all have the same incorrect scale & rotation. Usually fixed with Cntrl+A & apply Scale, Rotation. 'female_nude_base' has a scale of 1,1,1 & rotation of 0,0,0 which is correct.
I fixed the head and base scale, by using the apply method above. But the RIG is still incorrect, I cant seem to apply the scale in blender for it.
Hmm ok I'll have to look into that. I was using rigify for the models, but only because it's free with blender, I actually use Auto Rig Pro (which is amazing!) But I don't know if it's legal to sell models that use it and I also don't know if the rigs will work for everyone but if they do I'll include them in the future.
In the meantime I found this video that should hopefully be helpful
Pretty great, technically more PS2 than PS1, but for my silent hill 2 inspired project its perfect. Because these are the only ps2 like character models ive been able to find, everything else is too low poly.
Really cool stuff. we picked these up to learn from and were wondering if you could share some tips on how to approach adding clothing/attachments/weapons and hair.
Any tutorials or courses that would be recommended to check out for building more in this style?
Yeah I recorded a tutorial but I realized I could have done it much more cleanly so it's on my to do list.
Unfortunately I'm not sure how to add/edit geometry without having to re-rig the model so trying to figure that out. I do plan on updating the pack with more heads and textures though!
As for tutorials, I do have a texture painting tutorial here:
There are probably better ones out there, but one thing I'd recommend is making a transparent layer and using a mix node in blender to do your painting. That way your textures become a separate layer (if that makes sense)
You can create a new mesh, and parent it with automatic weights to the armature, or you can parent with no weights and then assign the vertices of the new mesh to the appropriate bones in the armature. You could also add new bones to the armature if needed for the new mesh.
PS1 texture size was limited to 256x256, and 128x128 was the most common texture size.
PS1 games usually segment the arm mesh into 2 pieces (upper and lower arm) for easier animating, same with the legs.
Thanks for the great pack, we're planning to use it as the starting point to model the characters for a new project we are starting development on.
Are there any plans to extend this asset with more outfits (women's blouse, men's suit/button up, jackets, additional hairstyles, blendshapes for additional body sizes)? Thank you!
Yes! I am currently using these for my own game and making a lot of NPC outfit heads and textures that I will release as a free update for it. So far it'll be a flight attendant, nurses, business attire, casual, and party dresses/skirts.
Awesome! That sounds like a great variety. I'm probably going to wait until the next itch creator day to pick up this asset since I don't have an urgent need of it, I just really want it, haha.
So I normally use Auto Rig Pro, but I used rigify since it's free and included. As for Unreal Mannequin, there is a free plugin called UE to Rigify, which you can see a tutorial on here:
Can you please make pay per PayPal available? At the moment there is only card payment possible, therefore I can not use it... Would love to buy the asset, nice work!

Could you upload a base texture to modify the skirt, pants and other clothing of the female model as you did the male's?
Will this work in Godot 3d?
I don't use Godot so I'm not sure what the formatting is, but they should be compatible with any game engine that uses a normal skeleton format
Couldn't pay through stripe, I would try and contact itch io if I were you, based on the comments it sounds like you're missing out on some sales here.
I've not had an issue buying from other creators on itch via stripe.
yeah I'm not sure what's going on but I just sent an email to itch to see if something is wrong. Thanks for letting me know!
The payments through stripe aren't working again.

Do anyone knows why this happens and how to fix?
it looks like the arm twist bones might not be registering right. You might have exported to a different format.
I'd offer more advice but I only use unreal engine
I'd recommend this tutorial on how to export to Unity:
Hi! I can't pay with a card:
P-17922906
Looks like an issue with Stripe
I can't use PayPal for now, because I've just moved to another country and didn't open bank account.
Thank you!
Hey there,
I'm sorry that's out of my control itch handles the payments. Maybe wait a day and see if the issue is cleared?
Are there no rigged male pants/shorts models? I only see the one nude one.
Wow the male shorts and pants rigged models are not included and I had no idea you are the first to tell me! I'm so sorry (to you and everyone) I'll update it first thing tomorrow and update the pack
Yeah I just checked to verify, I included the base models but forgot the rigged ones. Whoops!
Hey,
Great pack!
Has been fun to experiment with paintovers and stamping on some new faces. Exactly what I needed to help accelerate prototyping on my project.
I have some questions:
1. Are you still planning on updating/adding new variations to this at all?
2. What are the license terms with regard to sharing paint overs or characters I create from this base mesh?
I would be happy to share texture maps/assets for other users of the pack for free. Is this allowed?
If I modify, resculpt, retopo, rerig and repaint using this mesh as a starting point - am I allowed to share the final characters on itch.Io?
Thanks for creating a cool pack!
Thanks so much for buying!
I do plan on updating it, I'm just busy working on my game at the moment so it'll be a while unfortunately since I'm just a solo dev.
License is completely open to use in commercial and non-commercial projects, credit not necessary (but appreciated)
And if you are doing that much work on a character that's fine since you are basically making a new thing ๐
Thanks for taking the time to reply.
License terms sound good!
Today I started working on some soldiers, scientists, swat guys, spies & agents for a project I am developing!
When I finish up my texture packs for the default base meshes I'll share the results in case any other users find them helpful.
For any heavily modified meshes/characters, I may share the updated mesh, props, & rig if it's impractical to use your baseMesh as is.
I will be sure to get clearance & provide credit with any derived assets related to this pack.
PsychoDive looks fascinating and I will be sure to follow its progress here and on your YouTube.
Best of luck & Happy Gaming!
Can you change the models to the point of them being like fantasy races? Like elves, dwarfs, orcs.
You could but it would require a little work. Mainly making the ears pointy and editing the hue of the skin to make it the right color
Alright, sounds fine to me :) thank you replying too. My goal is to make a fantasy shooter and need some different races and I'm still to modeling, so when i get paid I'm gonna snag these. I want your videos a lot too. Enjoy the outbreak let's play.
Has anyone rigged this to the unreal mannequin skeleton in ue5? Im having issues with bone orientation. I know its something im doing wrong. :/
Hey I'm so sorry to hear that, I've only used UE4 but looking online it seems to be a rigify compatibility issue, but it could also just be a general blender to game engine problem.

Superb asset. I made this into Gyan Rosling lmao
haha looks great!
Great asset (but I have an issue)!

hmm I'm not that familiar with mixamo but if you are gonna use that I'd recommend removing the rig and using mixamos auto rigger instead.
I may have included non rigged models as well but I can't remember off the top of my head
Thanks for replying! No worries. I'll try to get it working and update here for anyone curious.

Your models work great with mixamo rigger which is great. I saw in another comment that you will add more outfits. That would be neat to have.
Glad to hear they work with Mixamo! And yes I'm planning on releasing more outfits as well as animals and other assets but it'll take some time

Yeah I'm not a PS1 purist, I think it's ok to add a little more polygons haha. I kinda see it as almost psp graphics
wait its inkribbon omg hiiiee WILL be purchasing this pack soon lol
Hey there! Love your pixel art!
Bahah thanks! โญ love your work on youtube and i'm always impressed to find out you do even more things!!
I purchased this and the Male is not in the correct pose, the female is fine however.
Thanks for letting me know, I'll be releasing an updated version of the asset pack soon!

Hey, is this rig compatible with the unreal mannequin rig or the mixamo rig by any chance?
So I normally use Auto Rig Pro, but I used rigify since it's free and included. As for Unreal Mannequin, there is a free plugin called UE to Rigify, which you can see a tutorial on here:
Can you please make pay per PayPal available?
At the moment there is only card payment possible, therefore I can not use it...

Hey there, so sorry about that I didn't realize I had never set up PayPal. I think it works now. and if there's any issues please let me know. ๐
Thanks a lot!
